Rnd1: Make an adjustable ring with 6sc in center of ring. Pull to tighten, join with sl st in first sc (6st) Rnd2: (Ch2, sl st in next st) x 6 (6 ch2 spaces) Rnd3: Into each ch2 space: (sl st, ch1, 2dc, ch1, sl st) (6 petals) Rnd4: With flower still facing front, insert hook into the back of the flower, working around the slip stitches made in round 2. (Sl st, ch3) x 6, join with sl st in first sl st (6 ch3 spaces) Rnd5: Into each ch3 space: (sc, ch1, 3dc, ch1, sc) (6 petals)
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing on button and/or sewing flower onto a hat.
To attach the flower to an elastic band: You can buy this elastic by the spool at craft stores. Sew the ends of the bands together, then hot-glue the seam to the back of the flower. Cover the back of the flower with a circle of felt, and viola!
