Stretchy Bow Headband Crochet Pattern
It takes about an hour to whip up this bow headband. It is worked entirely in slip stitches and has an awesome knit-look to it. It is super stretchy and adorable...
Use worsted weight yarn and size K crochet hook.
(How to do a slip stitch: Insert in next st, yarn over, pull through loops)
Chain 7, turn.
Row1: Starting in 2nd loop from hook, slip stitch in the back loop of each stitch across (6st)
Row2: Chain1, turn. Slip stitch in the back loop of each stitch across (6st)
*Be sure you are working in the back loop of the previous row. You will need to rotate the work toward you a bit to find it.
Continue to repeat row2 until the band is 3 inches shorter than the head measurement.
(My daughter's head measures 18", so I made the band 15" long.)
Bring the ends of the band together, then slip stitch the ends together.
Cut the yarn, leaving a 36" tail. Pull tail through loop.
For the bow, follow the same instructions again, stopping when your bow is as long as desired.
Mine is about 20 rows long.
Fasten off and weave in both ends.
At the seam, fold up the edges of the band so they meet.
Wrap the center of the bow around the seam, and wrap the long tail around it many times.
Tie tails together on the inside of the band, and weave in ends.
