Super Bulky Triangle Scarf Crochet Pattern
Super chunky, super warm, super soft.
I'm pretty sure this is my new favorite winter accessory. It's a little fashion forward; my husband says it belongs on Project Runway, which I'll take as a huge compliment since I love that show.
I love how it can be worn as a scarf or a shawl. I think I'll make this scarf in another color too, one that will stand out better against my black winter coat.
Here's how I did it:
esc= extended single crochet*
*How to do an esc: Insert hook in next st, yarn over, pull through, yarn over, pull through one loop, yarn over pull through 2 loops.
**How to do a dec: (Insert hook in next st, yarn over, pull through) x 2, (yarn over, pull through 2 loops) x 2. One st decreased.
Finished Measurements: 44” across top, 36” down each side, before fringe
Note: Work entire garment in back loops only.
Row1: Starting in 3rd ch from hook, esc in each st across (72st)
Row2: Ch2, turn. Dec in first 2 st, esc across, dec in last 2 st (70st)
Row3-35: Repeat row2. Each row has 2 fewer stitches than previous row.
Row36: Ch2, turn. Dec in first 2 st, dec in last 2 st (2st)
Turn, join final 2 st with a slip stitch. Fasten off.
Cut 146 pieces of fringe, each approximately 14in. long.
Add fringe down each side of the triangle, in the end of each row.
To make fringe: Use two strands together for each fringe. Fold in half, pull loop through end of row, pull ends of strands through loop and pull tight.
